Agriculture invests more than 8.7 million euros in modernization of irrigation works in the Community of Irrigators Librilla (08/04/2016)

The Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment, Adela Martinez-Cacho, inaugurated today one of the phases of the works of modernization of irrigation of the Community of Irrigators Librilla, for the irrigation sector 4 and rafts sectors 2 and 3 for a total amount of more than 8.7 million euros.

Martinez-Cacho stressed that "the irrigation of the Region of Murcia are the most efficient and pioneers of Spain in the application of the most modern technologies, however we must continue to lead this area by developing actions such as today inaugurated, that allow us to continue making the most of every drop of water. The Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment recalled the 'Intelligent Irrigation Plan of the Region of Murcia.

The irrigable area of ​​the Community of Irrigators Librilla, with a total of 1,850 villagers, has 2811.05 hectares have been divided into four independent irrigation sectors, each sector has its making, plus they are divided into two areas.

Moreover, the Directorate General of Water is in the bidding process of the works of irrigation sector 3, which will involve a total investment of 13 million euros.
